The Dream Zone

Dreams are strange and interesting things. In the Bible, we see that some dreams held a lot of meaning. Dreams can show our hidden fears and worries, remind us of important information we learned throughout the day, and even relay a message from God. However, some dreams have no meaning at all. Some are just plain silly. We have all had some crazy dreams, and I thought it would be fun to share one with you. So close your eyes and relax your body. Clear your mind. You are walking up some stairs, and then, all of the sudden, you are falling. The falling motion wakes you up, but you are not in the same place you were before. You are now in The Dream Zone.

Once upon a time, there was a boarding house. In this boarding house, lived two families. One family was rich and the other had just enough to survive. They were friends, and the rich family's money helped sustain them all. The boarding house belonged to the rich family and everyone was happy to live in it together. One day, the men of the family were at the gas station. The rich one, who we will call Chet, stepped forward to say something to the poor one, who we will call Johnny. Chet was a large, chubby man with a long nose that had a little bump on it. He wore a cowboy hat and had greasy, brown hair that was long due for a haircut. His striped, collared shirt was tucked into his denim pants. He did not look like the type to take himself too seriously, but he was. Rich people tend to be that way. Johnny wore a green dress shirt with gray pants and a gray blazer. His dark brown hair was cut neatly with a side part. He was a very friendly man. Chet and Johnny were talking, when Johnny accidentally touched Chet on a sensitive spot on his body. Chet's friendly composure became nasty and mean, like he was going to hurt him. He yelled at Johnny and let him know that he would kill him if it ever happened again. Their relationship was forever destroyed from that moment on. Chet, his wife, Yvette, and his son, Bret, all treated Johnny and his family horribly. They all still lived together in that boarding house, but one family lived well and the other was miserable.
Years went by and Johnny lost his wife. His little daughter, Connie, grew into a beautiful teenage girl. She had long, blonde hair that she parted in the middle, and she wore a pretty, long sleeved dress. She was always being made of fun of by Bret, who was the same age as her. She lived most of her life unhappily, because of the him and his family. She and her dad just put up with it. There was no way out. She grew more sick of it with every passing day. Then the day came when she was so tired of it, that while everyone was in the kitchen she opened the front door and ran away. She ran into a field of trees. Johnny, Chet, Yvette, and Bret all ran after her. They were gaining on her and she decided to climb up a tree, where nobody could reach her. She climbed up and everybody was screaming for her to come down. She made it to the top, and she was not going to come down. Then something scary happened. She fell out of the tree.

She landed right on the grass. Everyone ran to her and Johnny held her in his arms. "Are you alive?!" They all asked in fear. Now, Connie was still alive. In fact, she had no injuries from the fall, but she saw this as her ticket out. She now had a plan. She was going to stay still and pretend she was dead. That way, they would leave her alone and she could go off and live freely. She managed to fool everyone into thinking she was dead, but her plan did not go the way she expected. Unfortunately, Connie was the only family Johnny had. He already lost his wife, and he could not cope with the loss of his daughter, so he did something that most people would consider to be weird. He kept his daughter's supposedly dead body in the house. Not only did he keep it, but he moved around the house and put it in different positions. Sometimes, he would put her in the chair around the kitchen table, or the couch in the living room, or the bed in her bedroom, and sometimes he would just lay her on the floor. It was really quite strange, but that was the way he dealt with it. Connie made the best of it, though. When she was left alone, she would get up and do whatever she wanted until someone came into the room. To her, it was better than the way life was before. One day, after her father had left her on the kitchen floor, she got up to get some food from the cupboard. Someone from the rich family came in. It was either Yvette or Bret. Remember, dreams are vague. Connie froze in place and pretended she was fainting. As if she were dying again that very moment. She figured that the person would just think her body still had some spasms after her death. The person who was there fell for it and caught her. From then on, whenever Connie got caught standing, she had another "after death spasm."

This was the way she lived for months. One day her dad placed her on the floor of the school gym. All the school girls were jumping around and being athletic, while she just stayed still, lying on the floor. When gym time was done, everyone cleared out. Bret came in. He went to the same school as Connie. He had dark brown hair that was parted to one side. It was cut in a nice, classy style. He was not at all overweight like his dad. He wore light blue pants, and light blue blazer, and a white dress shirt. He had always been a jerk to Connie. He disliked her, but now he was sitting right in front of her on the floor, just staring at her. He all of the sudden felt that he could share his deepest thoughts and feelings with her, so he did. He kept talking to her and it made him happy, but Connie was annoyed and could not stand to be stuck listening to him. Bret did not want to quit talking, because he felt that Connie's "dead body" was really listening to him. He called for his limo to come and take the both of them home. Even though they both lived in the same boarding house, Bret had never been kind enough to let Connie ride in his limo, but now that she was pretending to be dead, he carried her and put her in it. He sat right next to her and spoke to her all the way home. He decided that he was in love with her, even though she was "dead." Connie was getting sick of listening to him. She didn't care that she was in a limo. The whole ride she could only worry about the fact that he would keep talking to her, from then on. This would be the way she had to live. The thought of having to listen to him for all her life was unbearable. She had to get out of this. She decided to have a few more spasms on the way home. She figured that if she could spasm into death, she could spasm into life. It would be like some strange situation where her brain had not completely shut down.
When they got home, Bret excitedly carried Connie to her father. He explained the fact that Connie had some more spasms and she might be alive! Bret was ecstatic! Johnny took his daughter and asked Bret if he could be alone with her. Bret was more than happy to give the two some alone time, because the girl he had just fallen in love with was coming back to life. Johnny took Connie into the bathroom, shut the door, and stood her up. He finally had caught on to what was going on. Connie stood up straight with her arms crossed, and looked at her father. "Connie, " Johnny said."You were just pretending to be dead the whole time."
"It was because I couldn't do it anymore," Connie responded.
"You have to tell them the truth. You know he's [Bret's] in love with you, right?" her father asked.
"Yeah," Connie replied. "But I can't put up with him."
Up on the bathroom ceiling was an air vent. A very excited Bret had crawled through it, so that he could listen to the groundbreaking conversation Johnny was going to have with his newly alive daughter. He yanked off the vent cover, which made his face completely visible to anyone who looked up. Who knows if he heard the beginning of the conversation? But he was smiling very widely, until he heard Connie's statement at the end of it. Then his happy composure became angry and mean, like he was going to get revenge.
The End.

Please close your eyes and relax you body. This time you are walking down some stairs. You fall over and it instantly wakes you up. You are now in the place you were when you began reading this blog post. We hope you enjoyed being in The Dream Zone! Maybe we'll go back there again someday. If you have any weird dreams you'd like to share with us, feel free to write them in the comment section. We'd love to here them!

Faith and Good Works

 Hi there!
Every Christian who goes to church and reads the Bible probably knows that Jesus is the only One Who can save sinners. There is nothing we can do to earn salvation. We are saved by grace and grace alone.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Salvation is a gift that only God can give. We cannot ever hope to do anything to merit it. We can do all the good works we see fit, but it will not get us to Heaven.
Titus 3:5-6 says, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost: Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior;"
We cannot rely on our own works of righteousness to get to Heaven. The only thing we can rely on is God's grace. It is so important that we know that good works cannot save us. However, there are many churches that are so focused on making sure that their congregations know that good works can't save them, that they completely downplay the importance of good works altogether.
James 2:17-18 states, "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works."
Faith without works is dead.  The works that we do are evidence of our faith. It is by our works that people will know us. They show people that there is something in us that is good and true. You see, when we do good works, nobody can say anything against them. Christians can get a lot of grief from those that do not know or believe the gospel, but those people cannot speak out against the good that we do. Works are how we prove that we really do love our neighbors as ourselves.
We cannot expect to do much for Christ if we do not act on our faith. Can you imagine what our Biblical heroes would look like if they had only faith with no works? Would Abraham have started a new nation? Would Moses have freed the Israelites? Would David have killed Goliath? All of them acted on their faith, and as a result, God used them to do amazing things. If we do good works, God can bless those works and use us to do amazing things. They definitely won't save us, but they are still important.
Faith without works is like a body without a spirit: dead. Anyone who would like to find out more about what the Bible says concerning good works

can read James 2.

Snappy Day!

Hey, it's Sara. The girls sometimes call me Sarbear. Veronica gets mad when a non-MSRVP person calls me that, though. Anyways, today was fun. At the school, we kind of goofed off. Today seemed to be a big snapchat day for us.

Paige stole my phone and sent a snap of herself to everyone on my snapchat. We spent a good portion of the day snapchatting. We took pictures of each other without us all even knowing, and posted them to our stories.

Paige on my snapchat

Me when I realized what she did

Paige secretly taking pictures of us, not knowing I was secretly taking one of her.

Paige walked over to her desk/cubicle. Then Rachel looked over at her and said,
"You're perfect. Except for all the sin."
Then she said,
"You put the cute in persecution."
That was followed up with laughter. We ended up saying Christian pick up lines all day. They were just so cheesy that we couldn't help but laugh. We laughed the whole day long! So without further ado, here's a list of cheesy Christian pick up lines that are so bad they're good:

1. You put the stud in Bible study.

2. Now I know why David had so many wives. He never met you.

3. I bring you great tidings of comfort and joy; I'm single!

4. Are you the milk and honey I've been promised?

5. I'd walk in your wilderness for 40 years.

6. Jesus said to feed the hungry. So how about dinner?

7. Excuse me. Is your name Grace? Because you're Amazing.

8. Your testimony is almost as beautiful as you.

9. I would leave 99 sheep behind to find you and carry you home.

10. You and I are like fish and loaves. We just might be a miracle.

11. You're just like water, except Jesus turned you into fine.

12. Are you cold? Ecclesiastes 4:11
Melanie responded to that by saying Proverbs 10:10

13. Excuse me, I believe one of your ribs belongs to me.

14. I was reading Joshua, and I was wondering how many times I have to walk around you to get you fall for me.

15. Is your name Faith? Because you're the substance of what I've hoped for.

16. I'm praying for you...to be my girlfriend.

17. Do you wanna be my manna from heaven?

18. Remember when God said He'd give you the desires of your heart? I'm here!

19. You and me, 2 Songs of Solomon !

20. I feel like one of the wise men, because you're the star I've been searching for.

Needless to say, we were in happy spirits today, or should I say snappy spirits? ;)

Welcome to MSRVP the Blog

Well, we guess you're probably wondering what MSRVP is. It's something that is probably not all that important to you, but it's very important to us. It's how we identify our very special friendship. M is for Melanie, S is for Sara, R is for Rachel, V is for Veronica, and P is for Paige.

You see, we believe our friendship is a gift from God.We just know each other so well. We've gone through so much together, and have overcome so many struggles, with God's help of course. When we're together we're always laughing. We talk about anything and everything. Sometimes our conversations are really deep and thought provoking. Other times, our conversations are silly and ridiculous. Either way, we enjoy each other's company.

We can turn to each other during tough times, and seek the Lord together. As long as we're all doing what God wants, we can rely on each other. The closer we all get to God, the closer we get to each other. We love each other so much, that we've decided to stay best friends for all our lives. We know it sounds a little unrealistic, but it's sort of a commitment we've made. None of us can ever leave MSRVP without cruel punishment ;).

We're each very different, so we compliment each other's personalities. One of us makes up for what the other is lacking.

Melanie
Melanie has great leadership skills. She always seems to know just what to do in situations of panic. While the rest of us are losing our heads in scary situations, or even just goofing off when there's work to be done, she's the one who whips us back into shape. She definitely has a choleric personality. She stands up for what she believes in, and wins every argument. She listens to God's call, and when she doesn't know what to do, she waits for His guidance.

Sara
Sara has more of a phlegmatic personality. She hates arguments and tries to avoid any type of conflict. She has a tendency to go along with things she'd rather not go along with, just to please others. She can tolerate a lot of things, even if sometimes she shouldn't. She is Rachel's older sister. She was always known for being very quiet, but Melanie, Rachel, Veronica, and Paige have brought her out of her shell. She's a girly girl, who likes anything feminine. She's not very emotional, but sometimes she entertains herself by being very dramatic. She's also pretty sentimental. She tries to be observant. She is always trying to understand people's emotions, because she just can't stand not understanding people's motives for being or acting a certain way. She feels that she needs to be able to relate to everybody. She tries to show Jesus' love to everyone.
Rachel

Rachel has a very sanguine personality. She is Sara's younger sister. She is pretty emotional, but she is also very entertaining. She makes us all laugh. She can be quite the drama queen at times. She is witty. She often acts on impulse, but is still very insightful. She will stick by what she knows is right, no matter what everyone else thinks. She is not afraid to say that wrong is wrong and right is right. When she stands for something, she stands tall and strong. She will stand by God's Word, even when others won't. She's kind of outgoing and loves to put a smile on other people's faces. She wears her heart on her sleeve and has a heart to serve others. When someone needs help with something, she's the first one to run to their rescue.

Veronica
Veronica has a melancholic-sanguine personality. She is very sassy and loves to laugh. She will say what's on her mind without fear. She's fun and cute. There is never a dull moment with her. She's girly, but tough. She's great at doing things like hair, nails, and makeup, but at the same time, if someone messes with her friends they're in for a world of hurt. She will stand up for her friends. Her love for people doesn't change, when they make mistakes.

Paige
Paige has a melancholic personality, but she is pretty optimistic. She's the youngest in the group, but has always been very mature. She's sweet and funny. She is a perfectionist. She is also very charming. She's the type of girl who can do anything she sets her mind to. People can't keep themselves from loving her. She's just so perfect. She's very well rounded and is nice to everyone. Sometimes she has these little blonde moments that amuse everyone. She's got a good head on her shoulders and does not take the blessings she has for granted.

We all met in a Christian school located within a church. Just the kind of place to make life long friendships.

This blog is mostly about MSRVP and the stuff we do. We'll be posting a variety of different things like stuff we did over the weekend, our insight on Bible verses, cute modest fashions, or anything else we think is blog worthy. All of us will be posting stuff, and we look forward to what lies ahead of us. God Bless!
